Here is an article on someone who thinks fly tying can be fun...It is. Sometimes I think it is a time consuming task, but when I finish one I must say it feels quite good and can't wait to test it. Check out the article to see if you agree.

Learning how to tie flies is, at the same time, one of the most rewarding and frustrating things an angler can do.

I'm sure there are folks out there somewhere who just picked up a fly-tying kit one day and started churning out killer fish catchers, but I've never met one. This art -- and that is exactly the right word to describe it -- is mastered by trial and error, and really works best when you have an experienced hand to guide you at the start.

There are some great fly-tying classes available to the general public in North Jersey, especially those being run by the folks at East Jersey Trout Unlimited. Nothing beats the personal touch, and these are well worth the time invested.

But what if you, like me, don't have the desire to go anywhere on those rare evenings home? Or what if you just want to spend some time brushing up on your fly-tying skills, learning a new wrinkle or two?.......................................
